Many prospective patients are put off by the thought of having to wear braces as they think they will feel self conscious, or that friends and colleagues will think they are vain. They also worry that it will interfere with their normal lives, especially if their jobs are customer facing or involve business meetings where first impressions are really important.

There are many types of orthodontic brace treatments available to help patients overcome these type of worries, so what the brace looks like needn’t be a barrier to getting a healthy straight smile.

The most effective and invisible brace available is the Incognito brace which is fitted on the inside surface of the teeth (also known as a lingual brace). There are also clear aesthetic braces fitted on the outside of the teeth that are much less visible than “traditional” braces. Both give fantastic results and will deal with all aspects of tooth correction, especially if full braces are needed on the top and bottom teeth. However, if all you are looking for is an improvement in your smile, and not perfection, patients can choose to have clear aligners to gently nudge the teeth to a better position.
